Lawyer says acted within powers not opposing monis bail inquest – ‘They are responsible for their own actions, they don’t have the authority’

The lawyer behind an inquest into alleged police brutality claims they have no right to call a murder inquiry into the fatal shooting of a man who was unarmed.

The inquest into Darren Bent, who died of a single gunshot wound to the head, is due to start at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Wednesday.

After his death, a court heard police in Blackpool had told his mother they did not consider him a threat, only for him to be arrested.

Mr Bent’s family has previou바카라사이트sly said they have no problem with the inquest.

The lawyer who specialises in policegospelhitz reform, Andrew Wilson, told BBC Radio Scotland: “The inquest has to reflect reality. The police and the coroner have to be both honest with each other about what happened.

Mr Wilson said that lawyers 바카라사이트would have a duty to oppose the inquest, saying that if it went ahead, “then some of these other cases will fall victim to these decisions”.

“If there was a criminal case, they have a duty to defend their client,” he added.

Benton’s family are expected to call for an investigation and a public inquiry after he was allegedly shot three times by police outside his home.

Bent, 25, was taken to hospital at about 3.20am on January 10 last year following an incident outside the home he shared with his partner Karen.

Officers in the town’s Northfield Road area, some 100 miles west of Glasgow, said Bent had fled a car and was “running from a police pursuit”, after police used a Taser.

The officer then shot Bent five times with the taser.

After the shooting, Karen Bent said she feared her husband was on the run because he did not have a handgun.

Her statement said: “I fear that after what happened toda
