Why Amy Poehler Is Comparing SNL 50 to High School Reunion

Live
from
New
York,
it’s
a
historic
reunion.

With
five
decades
of

Saturday
Night
Live’s cast
members
and
hosts
back
to
celebrate
the
50th
anniversary,
it’s
no
surprise
that

Amy
Poehler

feels
like
she’s
at
her
high
school
reunion.

“It’s
like
comedy
high
school,”
she
told
NBC’s

Willie
Geist

ahead
of
the

SNL
50:
The
Anniversary
Special

Feb.
16. “We
all
grew
up
here.
We’re
having
a
lot
of
big
feelings.
It’s
great
to
see
everyone
and
it’s
great
to
be
back.”

While
Amy—who
was
part
of
the
cast
from
seasons
27
to
34—left
in
2008,
some
things
still
feel
the
same
when
it
comes
to
preparing
for
the
show.

“Just
like

SNL
,
we’re
really
waiting
until
the
last
minute
to
figure
everything,”
she
quipped. “I
can’t
believe
we
have
to
do
a
show.”

But
some
other
aspects
are

very

different
for
tonight
than
the

SNL

programming.
She
added, “We
usually
don’t
have
a
red
carpet
before
our
show!”
