Olympics 2026: Britney Spears, Kevin Federline Reference Explained

Inside Team USA’s Olympics 2026 Gift Bag Featuring Starbucks’ Bearista Cup and More

Oh baby, baby how were we supposed to know that Britney Spears and Kevin Federline would be included in Olympics 2026?

Turns out, the “…Baby One More Time” singer and DJ’s mid-aughts marriage lives on when it comes to freestyle skiing lingo, specifically in the “K-Fed.”

During the Feb. 9 broadcast, an Olympics announcer explained that a frontside switch-up followed by a backside 270 off the rail is colloquially known as a “K-Fed,” because, “it was popularized around the time Britney Spears and Kevin Federline were in the news, so it became a joke.”

There is also a less popular move named after the pop icon herself, known as “The Britney” or “The Brittney,” which is similar to the K-Fed, but has the skier move in the opposite direction on the rails.

Aside from taking inspiration from the “Circus” singer’s marriage, skiers have also named some switch ups after Ellen DeGeneres and Ray Charles
