David
Muir
is
breaking
the
news
on
how
he
feels
about
being
a
“daddy.”
In
response
to
social
media
users
bestowing
the
looks-affirming
title
upon
the
World
News
Tonight
host—and
even
creating
a
blog
called
Gimme
Gimme
Muir
to
lean
into
it—the
51-year-old
shared
his
reaction
to
the
hilarious
trend.
“People
will
forward
TikTok
videos,
but
only
because
they
are
laughing
out
loud
at
them
and
making
fun
of
me
and
saying, ‘When
did
you
become
Daddy?’”
David
told
People
in
an
interview
published
May
30.
“So
I
don’t
know
whether
that
happens
when
you
hit
50
or
what,
but
I’ll
take
it
as
a
compliment,
I
think.”
Through
laughter,
he
added, “Maybe
it’s
lost
on
me,
but
I
guess
Daddy’s
better
than
the
alternative.”
But
what
makes
the
journalist
chuckle
even
more
is
the
truth
that
he
doesn’t
necessarily
love
dressing
the
part
of
news
anchor.
“Anyone
who
works
with
me
knows
that
I
am
so
uncomfortable
even
having
to
put
on
the
tux,”
David
continued.
“So
the
fact
that
I
survive
those
events
is
still
a
surprise
to
me
without
looking
like
a
total
nerd.”
