Barnsley declared head coach Gerhard Strubers very first home game with a 3-1 victory over Hull in charge.
Aims from Mike Bahre in half and Alex Mowatt put the home side before Keane Lewis-Potter reduced the arrears, but Barnsley held on to record their first win since the opening day of this year with Conor Chaplin adding a third.
