Newq York Jets wide receiver Quincy Enunwa out for season with serious neck injury

New York Jets wide receiver Quincy Enunwa will miss the remainder of the season after sustaining his next severe neck injury in the last few years, head coach Adam Gase declared.
Before signing a $36m contract extension in December enunwa, who sat out the 2017 season because of an neck missed five games in 2018 due to ankle injuries.
The 27-year-old Enunwa had just one grab for minus-4 metres in New York’s 17-16 season-opening loss.
Gase said the Jets”discovered the next day after the game” about Enunwa’s accident when he informed the team he”didn’t feel right following the game.”
“You eliminate a starter, you drop a guy who’s a veteran player that’s been through a lot, that’s done a lot of great things,” Gase explained.
“He has done everything you can possibly ask a man to do. He attempts to do everything . He works hard, he analyzes, he tries to lead by example when he must, and he always speaks up. The way he performs , everything was barbarous and he gives.
“I feel for himjust in the aspect of everything he’s going through with something such as this. It’s not something that’s easy for guys who have been doing this their whole life.”
The Jets ready for the reduction of Enunwa with Tuesday’s trade with New England to get Demaryius Thomas, who will combine Jamison Crowder and Robby Anderson in the wide receiver rankings of the team.
New York sent its AFC East competition a sixth-round pick. He spent five seasons coaching Thomas together with the Denver Broncos, three as his position coach (2010-12) and two since his offensive coordinator (2013-14).
Gase told reporters he expected Thomas to play Monday night against Cleveland (0-1), supposing the 31-year-old passes his physical.
Since being selected in the sixth round the 2014 NFL Draft enunwa has recorded 1,617 receiving yards receptions and five touchdowns.
