Appleton,
who
also
cut
the
singer’s
signature
long
locks.

To
usher
in
a
new
era
and
take
the
31-year-old’s
hair
to
new
heights,
Chris—whose
clients
also
include
Kim
Kardashian
and
Jennifer
Lopez—went
in
stages.
“It’s
a
big
change,”
the
celeb
hairstylist
told
E!
News
in
an
exclusive
interview. “Getting
to
do
something
like
that
for
someone
that
you
are
really
close
to
is
really
magical
and
fun.”
“When
you
open
the
door
to
the
possibilities
of
hair
and
how
it
can
transform
you
and
how
it
can
change
your
image,”
Chris,
a
Schwarzkopf
Global
Color
Ambassador,
continued, “it’s
very
powerful,
especially
when
you’re
using
that
in
music
or
in
your
storytelling.”
So,
where
did
they
start
the
process?
“We
cut
it
to
one
length,”
he
explained, “and
then
we
went
shorter
after
that.”
“When
you’re
changing,
it’s
natural
for
anyone
to
feel
a
bit
apprehensive,”
he
continued. “Hair
doesn’t
grow
back
in
five
minutes.
Everyone
knows
that.
That’s
why
there
has
to
be
an
element
of
trust
and
comfort
between
the
two
of
you.”
