From
Meghan
Markle’s
Netflix
Show
Appearance
Issa
Rae
is
embracing
her
role
in
Black
Mirror—but
not
necessarily
the
themes
it
explores.
In
the
third
episode
of
the
Netflix
anthology
series’
seventh
season,
titled
“Hotel
Reverie,”
the
Insecure
alum
plays
a
Hollywood
star
thrust
into
a
high-tech
remake
of
a
classic
film
that
proves
to
be
a
little
too
immersive—a
scenario
she
felt
might
not
be
far
from
coming
true.
“I
was
engrossed,
conceptually,
in
the
fact
that
this
could
be
a
reality—and
probably
will
be,
to
an
extent,”
she
told
E!
News
correspondent
Will
Marfuggi
in
an
exclusive
interview
airing
April
14.
“Hopefully
not
as
dangerous.”
Indeed,
working
on
the
new
season
of
the
Emmy-winning
series—premiering
April
10
and
featuring
the
likes
of
Will
Poulter,
Paul
Giamatti,
Tracee
Ellis
Ross,
Chris
O’Dowd
and
Cristin
Milioti—seemed
to
reaffirm
Issa’s
belief
that
technological
advancements
in
filmmaking
should
have
their
limits.
“As
a
fan
of
older
movies,”
she
continued,
“hearing
that
there’s
gonna
be
technology
where
random
people
can
just
make
themselves
Tom
Hanks
in
Big
or
Monica
in
Love
and
Basketball,
that
makes
me
upset.”
