Winston said that he met with a few other people—”I went on a few dates,” he quipped—”and I just didn’t feel great. And I just looked at this lineup, and it was just before Christmas, and I sent him a video from my house. I had the whole lineup, I said, ‘Look who’s on the show.'”
“I said, ‘The only thing’s missing is, I need you,'” the 13-time Emmy winner continued. “It felt like the bubbles on my phone were going for like 20 minutes.”
Obviously, Noah allowed himself to be wooed back to the final ceremony being broadcast by Paramount’s CBS before Disney’s ABC takes over in 2027 (and he really only took about 30 seconds to respond), but under the condition that this year be his last hurrah.
“I’m so delighted,” Winston said, “because he just gives you something that you so need on a night like this.”
