NHL Puckline Betting Report

When gambling on the NHL, it can occasionally be hard to find value in a team that is either heavily preferred or is an important underdog on the moneyline. Fortunately for us, many sportsbooks provide us a puckline, that’s the identical thought as a point spread in sport such as soccer and basketball. The difference, obviously, is that scores in hockey are much lower and the spread is almost always placed at 1.5. This means that so as to cash a spread bet, a favorite must win by an underdog shouldn’t lose by more than one.
Each week I will update every team’s puckline documents and profits as we progress throughout the 2016-17 season. Below is an analysis of some of the best puckline trends in the NHL and a table containing every team’s puckline record.
Here is 1 team to one and target group to evaporate during the final week of play. Team into TargetToronto Maple Leafs: although not the most lucrative puckline team from the league, the Maple Leafs have among the very best spread records in the league with 43 puckline successes. They have five games to play with this week and they will have to win nearly every one to ensure a place in the playoffs.
The games in their docket seem tough on the surface as they’ll watch the Capitals, Lightning, Penguins and Blue Jackets but with all but one of those teams clinching a postseason berth, the Leafs will probably face a reasonable share of backup goaltending down the stretch.
Additionally, you’ll be getting more than enough value in those games if the Leafs are deemed the preferred because the people will still bet about the big-market teams that have won all year.
Team to FadePittsburgh Penguins: It’s been well over a week because the Penguins earned a puckline win and I’m expecting they finish the regular season without a different one. They will be playing some distressed teams and they are a banged-up squad.
Now, it’s unlikely they catch the Caps and their matchup with the Blue Jackets is all but locked in. They’d probably like to finish in minute and get home-ice benefit for the first round but using Kris Letang still on the shelf, that might not be a possibility.
