Golden
Globes:
Eddie
Redmayne
Admits
the
Surprising
Reason
Behind
His
Suit
Selection
Eddie
Redmayne
does
not
have
the
eye
for
fashion.
At
the
2025
Golden
Globes,
the
Day
of
the
Jackal
star—who
is
up
for
Best
Actor
in
a
Television
series
alongside
Mr.
and
Mrs.
Smith’s
Donald
Glover,
Presumed
Innocent’s
Jake
Gyllenhaal,
Slow
Horses’
Gary
Oldman,
Shogun’s
Hiroyuki
Sanada
and
Landman’s
Billy
Bob
Thornton—stepped
out
in
a
black
and
white
checkered
suit,
and
took
time
to
explain
why
on
the
red
carpet.

“I’m
colorblind,
which
is
why
I’m
wearing
black
and
white
tonight,”
he
exclusively
told
Zuri
Hall
on
Live
From
E!:
Golden
Globes.
“When
I
wear
color
it
can
be
a
bit
risque.”
Of
course,
when
the
82nd
Golden
Globes
nominee—whose
show
is
also
up
for
Best
Television
Series
at
the
ceremony,
hosted
by
Nikki
Glaser—does
want
to
incorporate
color,
he
enlists
the
help
of
his
wife
Hannah
Bagshawe—with
whom
he
shares
kids
Iris,
8,
and
Luke,
6.
“That’s
when
my
wife
has
to
give
me
some
counsel,”
he
noted
of
adding
color.
“She’s
like,
‘That
doesn’t
work.’”
And
while
his
condition
allows
for
some
relationship
bonding,
the
way
the
Fantastic
Beasts
alum
discovered
he
was
colorblind
was
anything
but
romantic.
